Ten Minutes: Persona
Thanks to an overabundance of social media platforms, everyone is now forced to inject their personality directly into the internet. Even worse, our shareables only reflect an impossibly skewed version of ourselves. We’d hate to drop to the bottom of the social ladder by revealing unflattering pictures or conceding to the mundane. Instead, we build digital monuments of the most fascinating parts of lives that are subject to judgement 24 hours a day. Without them, we hardly exist. That leads to more and more people willing to fabricate their entire reality just to look good online. Sadly, this also means that the most popular people will soon become the least interesting.
